Dr. Skënduli is a computer scientist whose research spans artificial intelligence, machine learning and quantum computing, with a particular focus on AI in education. After earning a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the University of New York Tirana, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Quantum Machine Learning at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. Her career combines 15 years in academia with a decade of IT leadership in industry.

Internationally, she has advised the Council of Europe as an expert on Artificial Intelligence and Education and evaluated frontier AI systems as a policy researcher in OpenAI’s Red Team Network.

In 2023, Dr. Skënduli founded AI Albania, the country’s first center dedicated to AI excellence and the development of a responsible AI ecosystem. A Heidelberg Laureate Forum Young Researcher and Awards Chair of ACM-W Global, she is a leading voice for responsible AI and for the advancement and representation of women in computing.
